SentriNET for VPN
SentriNET for Check Point's VPN-1® SecuRemote™
and SecureClient™, allows for a secure biometric authentication
to the VPN-1 server. SentriNET user profiles are stored within a
Microsoft® Activce Directory's Service or LDAP database. When
an access request is made from a VPN secure client to access secure
resources, VPN-1 server intercepts this request and prompts for
authentication.
SecuRemote/Client can use a variety of biometric
devices to capture a fingerprint for authentication.
When using SentriNET authentication, VPN-1 server is configured
to look up a SentriNET RADIUS server, which in turn contacts Active
Directory’s Services to retrieve a user’s SentriNET
profile. It is this profile that is used for authentication. The
authentication request is made with the biometric-matching process
taking place on the SentriNET server. The result is then returned
to VPN-1 server, and authentication is either granted or denied.
