SentriNET Password Vault

Personal Access Control to Applications

SentriNET Password Vault is an easy and secure way to extend the use of biometric technology for third-party applications. A user's application logon information is stored in a ‘vault’, and access to the vault is controlled by live fingerprint scanning. Once opened, the vault supplies application ID/Password information, ensuring users don’t have to remember numerous passwords.

SentriNET Password Vault is a Windows-based biometric password storage system. When unlocked, the vault has three main functions:

  1. Allow enrolment of applications into the vault
  2. Store user ID and password information for enrolled applications
  3. Populate applications with user ID and password information

The system enables a user to enrol any Windows application requiring a user ID and password, thus enabling biometric authentication. The vault will detect when the application is launched, and at runtime, will automatically populate the relevant application with user-specific logon data. The vault can be set to either prompt a user for a biometric when an application requires logon information, or it can automatically populate any enrolled application when the vault is unlocked. Unlocking the vault always requires successful biometric authentication to occur. Therefore, a user can biometrically protect any enrolled application. Password Vault will be unlocked by default if the user has successfully authenticated to SentriNET. Password Vault removes the need for users to memorise their personal usernames and passwords, bringing the benefits and ease of use biometric authentication brings to any Windows-based application.
